Role Play description

Abandoned by his poor family at an early age Raythouse has wander the country side in search of a quiet home. Tall and reserved he finds it hard to make many friends.

After a couple of weeks of hard work Raythouse achieved the requirements to obtain his own piece of property and decided to grow veggies.

Again his hard work has come to fruition. Given command of the Sussex branch of the Knights of the Phoenix, Rayhtouse now walks with pride and dignity, and is honored to be responsible for the Honored Knights.

So it goes, he has now been given the task of protecting the Lady Brianna of the Royal house Tudor, probably the hardest job he has undertaken, but one he is sure will be most rewarding.

The job of bodyguard has turned into the biggest challenge of his life, marriage, or soon to be so. Lady Brianna and her family have shown him the greatest respect and acceptance, and for that they will always have his undying gratitude and loyalty.

Now married and starting a new life in a new colony, Evesham. He is settling down, somewhat, with his wife Brianna. They have themselves a lovely house and are working hard to make a real home. Things are good for him, and getting better.

As Raythouse and Brianna make their lives together, they dig though each others memories. Raythouse has now regained some of his childhood from the dark recesses of his mind. The
orphanages, the running from the law, and coming to Arundel. The first meeting of his now best friend Beaker and the completion of his childhood there. There is still more under the surface, more coming clear each and every day.

Now promoted yet again in the KOP, Raythouse has gotten even better news, he is to be a father. He and Brianna are expecting their first child in February, although he is excited, he still is worried if he is ready for this responsibility.

Now a Captain in the KOP he has been given command of the Division of Worcestershire, Wiltshire, and Cornwall for the KOP. He has also moved into many groups within the KOP and now feels as though he has proven himself within their ranks.

Other, more startling revelations have been brought to his attention. His long time friend Beaker is actually his brother, lost to him a long time ago. Raythouse was given to an orphanage as a baby. His family moved to England from Ireland shortly thereafter. The orphanage that he was in burned down, destroying all records
of his past and who he was. Ray was shipped off to London where he stayed in the orphanage for a short time before running away and making his way on the streets there. He survived the only way he could, a time in his life he is not proud of and to this day works to redeem in his own eyes. After a long and dogged pursuit by the police in London, he settled in Arundel and met Beaker, unknown to him that Beaker was his brother, they became fast and dedicated friends. His real name, Reamann MacBratney, still feels some what wrong to him and he has decided to keep the name he has know his whole life, Raythouse. His last name, after much pained debate, he has decided to keep the Tudor name the family has graciously given him permission to use, and will be known as
Raythouse Edmund Flower MacBratney-Tudor.

His brother, Beaker, is marring the lovely Anathema, a joyous and wonderful event. Ray has thrown a bachelor party for his brother in Evesham, the first one there and one that will be remembered for all time. The wedding is to happen very soon and Ray looks forward to it as much as his own.

Raythouse had been given the great honor of Baron of Redditch. He was nominated by the gracious Kyley. More that the title, he is proud that people are willing to recognize the work he has put into the betterment of the Kingdom. This title has only made him want to work all the harder for the protection of his family and friends.

Having more experience in the world, Ray is now wheat farmer with his field being changed from vegetables. As usual, he looks forward to facing this new challenge.

Again his hard work and dedication has given him even more honor. Now a Colonel in the KOP and given command of his first full mission, his mind is focused on the path before him. The time of the arrival of his child is quickly approaching and each day brings him closer to his goals. Life has turned around in he last 6 months, he knows that nothing could replace the happiness that he has found surrounded by his friends and family.

Once again, another promotion in the KOP, he is now a Brigadier General in their ranks and is now working hard to help run this great organization. The due date for the first child of the happy couple is quickly approaching and along with all the other things going on, Raythouse has decided to run for Mayor of Evesham. The support he has recieved from the towns people, friends, family and loved one is more than he would have ever expected.

Now elected as Mayor of Evesham he has taken a new and interesting turn in his life. He now has a new perspective on the operation of a town. He hopes to make the town even more profitable and rate Evesham as one of the best town's to live in.

A messenger arrives from Evesham to the KoP Headquarters...
Quote :
Fellow Knights,

I bring you bad tidings... Our BG Raythouse has fallen near his Mayor's office after a day's work. Lt Brianna is grief stricken and Beaker, BG Raythouse's brother, has asked for the culprit to be found. Please advise on the best course of action.

Sgt Dean

The HQ was empty of Knights except for a handful on duty due to the recent revolutions in Wiltshire and recently Sussex... The note was forwarded to Gen Elson and decision was made to hold a Military Funeral for the fallen BG. (Funeral will begin Tuesday after Reset.)

General Elson immediately wrote a few messages to be sent out.
Quote :
Sgt Dean,

I am sadden by the news of the lost of our dear brother in arms. Both Raythouse and Brianna are on our KoP Council and therefore we must provide Brianna all the support she needs. Do continue to be around Lt Briana to give her support for all her needs. Please also make arrangements for the body to be brought to KoP Headquarters and we will have a military funeral for our beloved brother. Please advise Brianna and her family that the funeral is to take place shortly after the body arrives at KoP Headquarters.

Keep watch over the triplets as well for we know not what the culprit might do further... See you all in a few days time.

General Elson
Quote :
County Commander,

Our beloved brother in arms, BG Raythouse Tudor had fallen...
Please rally the available Knights and prepare for a military funeral to take place in four days time. SgtMaj Wanfeng will be conducting the funeral, please assist him where possible.

As we are still on alert 1 in both Oxford and Lewes, make sure that the Knights know to keep watch throughout the whole funeral as well. Also keep a look out in Evesham for the culprit who killed our beloved.

General Elson

Preparations for the funeral started as soon as the messages were sent out. And condolences started to come in even before the preparation begins...

[OOC: Please be on hand to send off our BG Raythouse. You can drop your condolences here and later announce your arrival as Tuesday nears. Thank you. /OOC]

sajanzv - Posted: Fri Feb 09, 2007 6:13 pm

It was with a sad and broken heart that Sajanzv stood guard as his dear departed friend Raythouse's casket was brought into the chapel for public viewing.

As General Elson made his announcements, Sajanzv's mind wandered back to the time when he first came to know Raythouse when he first came to Bath as a trader for the county of Sussex. Great was the man's humility and grace. He remembered fondly Raythouse's talks with his sister Ellsbeth...

He then remembers when Raythouse came back with Brianna for the first time to Bath, and the wonderful times Rosalynn and himself shared with the couple and others from Bath, drinking and having fun in the Rubber Ducky...

He remembers with pride the meteoric rise of his friend through the ranks of this wonderful organization, he remembers with pride the help that this brother in arms gave him as he went to duel Dark_devil. He remembers with pride when General Raythouse came to Bath to protect the town against revolts.

As he remembers all the multitude of memories, a tear slowly flows down his cheek. In the end, memories will be all that remain, memories of the great deeds of one of the greatest soldiers that England had ever seen.

As he slowly wiped away his tears, Sajanzv whispers to himself, "I shall never forget you, my dear friend, may your memory always remain fresh and your sacrifices for our England never be forgotten"

Assembling together with him the Book of Virtues and a flask of holy water, the Deacon, the Right Honorable Algernon O'Rourke, repaired towards Evesham in anticipation of his being called to yet officiate a marriage. He was distracted, this day, however, having heard news of how one of his dear friends had fallen. He made haste to travel to KoP headquarters quickly, before he would travel to his destination for the wedding that was planned.

Genuflecting at the threshold of the chapel, the Deacon crosses himself and silently prays before he very slowly rises again. Approaching that chapel's altar, his eyes never once meeting any from the people assembled as he walks with very deliberate steps past, he genuflects again as he faces it, a stern expression on his face as he crosses himself and silently prays again.

Rising upon his finally having seen his dearly departed friend's viewing, the Deacon collapses in sudden motion to his knees again in silent prayer. Openly weeping as tears clearly cascade in waterfalls down his cheeks, he crosses himself and sits silent for perhaps an inordinate length of time. He now rises, and repairs openly wailing and barely capable of sight through blurred vision, to the task that originally called him towards Evesham. His shoulders shudder when he leaves...

Skyjacker enters the chapel quietly. Sadness is seen on his dace as he takes a look at coffin in which his dear friend lies.

He remembers the first time he met Ray in the Den in Evesham. It was a nice sunny day Skyjacker was walking the streets and exploring the new town to which he moved. He heard some noisy coming from the Den and went inside.
He remembers there was this nice couple sitting by the table. Later he got to know them better it was Ray and Bri sitting by the table. He remembers the day Ray recruited him to the KoP.

Ray will be remembered as gallant, acquiescent solder...

Gooch sat at front of the chapel to pay his respects to the great man that was General Raythouse Tudor.

Ray was more then Gooch's commanding officer, he was his best friend. He was the first friend that Gooch made after joining the KoP and was always there to help. This was something he never thought would happen, Jah must have needed Ray more then the people of England. He couldn't stop thinking that he should have been there to help. Gooch was Bri's bodyguard and they lived in different towns, if he had only moved to Evesham he might have been there for Ray. He couldn't just leave Bri to be alone, thats not what Ray would have wanted. For all that Gooch knew, the guy that killed Ray could come back for Bri. It was time to convince Gwyn to move to Evesham.

"You will be missed by all, but never forgotten. As long as we in the KoP remember you, this organisation will be strong for you were always a role-model and a great friend to all"

Zenrel raises a hand in salute to the memory of now General Raythouse.

As Noresor arrived at the chapel, he walked in stealthily, so as not to disturb the ceremony. He walked in and stood in the back, seeing just how many people have turned out for the death of a great man. As he listened to the ceremony... he thought of the repercussions of his death, besides the obvious ones...

"I hope Raythouse wasn't TOO powerful... otherwise there'd be a power vacuum somewhere...." he silently thought.

He quickly vanquished the idea, and would tell himself to think of it later. For now, he prayed that Raythouse was in a better place. Noresor didn't know him personally, but he has met him a couple of times, knowing that his loss has been felt by all.

Brianna made her way into the Chapel tears flowed from her eyes as she saw him. She glided up the spot were he was layed. She looked for a minute and fell to her knees sobbing. "My darling husband. You were so brave and strong, you have touched so many lives with your love and kindness. I am so proud of you and all you have done. I just wish I had been there for you and had your back as I promised. I fell so quilty that I wasn't there for you. But I know you would tell me to stop being silly. I will always cherish our children and that we fell in love so deeply. I just wish you were still here with me and the babies." she sobbed as she layed her face in her hands she just sat there crying and sobbing not able to leave him there she couldn't

2nd Lt. Magelet came up and put a hand on her sisters shoulder as she said her goodbyes to the General. She hesitated to speak out loud at first, she didn't wish to disturb her sister more than offering what comfort her presence could bring to her little sister, but then she decided her sister wouldn't mind.
"Ray, brother, I'm not sure what to say. It seems like yesterday, and also forever ago, that Brianna told me that she had fallen in love with her body guard, and you would be marrying. Since then, I have come to know and love you like the brother you are. You became my commander, my guide, my teacher here in KoP. You were there to talk when I needed to, serious if I needed it, but happy to have a fun time the rest of the time. I remember teasing you about your middle name when I found out. I remember all those nights in the tavern where you and Brianna monopolized my daughter, and I could see from how you were with her that you would make a wonderful father for your children, and I know you will be. You aren't here anymore, but they will grow up knowing of you, knowing of your life, in private at home, and here, in the KoP, where you strived to serve well, and succeeded at doing so, so wonderfully. I promise you, they will know what a man their father was. I miss you much already, bro, and I'm certain there will come times when I will miss you more. You were a good friend. I will protect your wife and children in your stead, Raythouse, though I know my sister is strong, and capable of taking care of herself. I will watch out for them, and I know, whereever you are, that you do the same. Farewell Raythouse. May the Lord and Lady smile upon you."

Magelet wiped a tear from her eyes and reached down to kiss ray's forehead. she looked at her sister, and saw she wasn't ready yet, so Mage kissed her cheek, and stepped back, allowing others to pay their respects. When Brianna was ready, she was here.

Beaker - Posted: Sun Feb 11, 2007 5:59 am

Beaker went straight to Ray, eyes not meeting any other less he falter here. He arrived and saw Bri still sobbing at the alter, nearly causing him the lose what little control he had.

Beaker placed his hand on the edge of the casket and stared at his brother. He knew him as his brother for only a short while, but Ray was his friend throughout his life. He continued to stare at him, remembering all the times as playing crazy kid games, later chasing the girls of Arundel and raising the ire of everyone in town. He and Ray grew up (a bit) and later still each found the girl of their dreams, being each other’s best man at the weddings. He thought of their dreams of the future – Ray always the soldier and politician, Beaker the scholar and diplomat. Each had begun to realize those dreams and could share them with happy families.

But Ray’s dream had been snatched away.

Beaker bowed his head and looked at his brother. He leaned over to Ray’s ear and spoke to his brother for several minutes – words too personal to share. Beaker straighten, tears now in his eyes and reached into his pocket, removing his mother’s wedding ring. The family’s legacy to Raythouse. Brianna had agreed that Ray should have it with him. Beaker placed the ring on Ray’s finger and said, “Sleep well my brother.”

Beaker turned stiffly from the casket and went to the still sobbing Bri, helping her to her feet and to the front row to sit, holding her closely to support her.

As the funeral service officially begins, a KoP Sergant Major dressed in ceremonial uniform enters the sancruary. He makes his way to the front while swaying the Censer. He is heard chanting:
"Like burning incense, O Lord, let our prayers rise up, rise up to Thee. Like burning incense, O Lord, let our prayers rise up, rise up to Thee...".

He places the censer before the altar, kneels, and finishes the chant:
"...To you, Jah, our eyes are turned; in Thee we take refuge; spare our souls! From the trap they've laid keep us safe, from the snares of those who do evil."

He raises, turns, and faces the people:
"Praise to the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit: As it was, is now and ever shall be for ever and ever. Amen"

The people respond, "Amen"

SgtMaj Wanfeng, countinues, "Why bury our dead?"

"The body of Man, made from clay, is by nature attached to the earth, but the truth of friendship will raise his heart and if he is worthy to join the Lord he will not fall as the body does towards the fire of hell but on the contrary he will find his true nature which is to rise towards our Lord."

"We shall not in this life look upon the sight of our friend again, Though we pray that the sight of the Lord will look upon him now. "

The people respond: "Lord do not divert from your sight our friend."

"After the friendship which he received and which guided his life, he goes to the ultimate friendship which is with the Lord. "

The people response:"Lord do not divert from your sight our friend."

"After the sorrows and the tears which darkened his life, his path shall be illuminated for eternity."

The people respond: "Lord do not divert from your sight our friend."

"Lord, we turn our hopes towards you at this hour when the body of our dear friend stills. "
"Grant to us the hope that Thou will look on for ever and ever. Amen."

The people respond: "Amen"

MSgt Johnthanand Sgt Dean stand holding wicker baskets.

They proceed to pass the baskets around the chapel. The purpose of this is to collect donations in honour of General Raythouse to be given to the needy. Some put in a piece of fruit, a loaf of bread, or a few pounds.

[OOC: You can now place something in the basket for the poor through KoP Granary A list of record will be kept in the visitors lounge for future distribution.

"Brothers and Sisters, if we are here, it is to gather in friendship as a family which is in sorrow. It is for us to recall as we pray Jah remembers all that there was of good in the life of our brother and to ask him to make him a good reception."

In silence the Sergeant Major lights the candles around the coffin

"Friendship is the light of the world, it is the flame which heats our heart.
Which lights the path of Raythouse Flower MacBratney Tudor which he now travels to the Kingdom of God!"

The Sergeant Major places a medallion on the casket.

"Gen Raythouse we deposit this aristotelician cross on your coffin.
This cross is the sign which connects Aristotle and Christos, that it is for you signs of welcome and eternal life ".

Master Sergeant Johnthan and Sergeant Dean come forward and place the baskets on the casket.

"Gen Raythouse, we deposit this present on your coffin, sign of our friendship, sign of our prayer, sign of our heart ".

"What does burial point out to us?"

Master Sergeant Johnthan steps forward,
"The memory of a Friend in Aristotle who has just left us. Of a man which had a personal history with Jah. Who was embraced with the charity of God. Who made an effort to embrace this charity."

Sergeant Dean steps forward,
"That we here in this place, around Gen Raythouse, to become aware of this bond of love which always linked him to Jah, who links Jah with each one of us, at any moment."

Johnthan continues,
"Death will come for each one of us for some early, for others later. For some in their youth, others in their old age.
The Lord warns us: "Be ready, be always ready because you know neither the day nor the hour".

Dean continues,
"Aristotle guided us and Christos invites us to take up his example, to find our joy living for others, to love as they love us.
Our presence here is prayer. We call upon Aristotle who measures the sins of our brother and Christos who intercedes near the Lord so that He shall receives him into His Paradise."

The two bow, then return to their seats

The Sergeant Major speaks to those assembled,
"Now let us hear from those that knew him."

HRH Princess Brianna - Posted: Tue Feb 13, 2007 3:58 am

Bri walked up to the stage and looked at all the men and woman that had come to honor her husband. She took a deep breath "Ladies and Gentleman, Thank you for being here today. It would make General Raythouse very proud at how you have all banded together to help him and his family as you ........ Ray was the light of my life he had given it meaning when there was nothing there. He never failed to make me smile when I was sad. He has given me so many gifts in this life time in just the short time we were together. I have a poem here that someone close to me shared and I think that it is beautiful and explains just how I feel:

thoughts...

one who would cure this ache, I yearn for that someone
one who would miss me desperately but wouldn't pronounce the pain of being apart...

one who would miss my touch every moment of the day, one who would miss my love,
yet, wrapped in the cloak of night, she would love me with tears, oblivious to all else...

in thoughts, she would cover the miles between us,
...tip toeing behind me to cover my eyes, filling the air with laughter...

in sadness, she would lose all peace with thoughts of my pain,
in prayers, she would raise hands for herself yet each prayer would be mine...

tis not me, but I ache for a mirror image of my heart,
my prayer is my passion; give me this and let all else pend forevermore...

this ache is beyond all else, is it the fate of love?
would one who felt it tell me? would one who felt it call out to me?...

Ray was my mirror image of my heart he always knew just what I need or wanted. My passion for him will burn through out eternity and more. He will be missed by so many. He helped so many good people while he was here and he has made me so very proud at how much he has done for this country and our friends and family. I wish I didn't have to stand here today and talk about this but I do. I know he is here smiling down at all of us right now thinking he has it made sitting on cloud 9 and im sure he does. He can finally get some rest. I loved General Raythouse Flower MacBratney Tudor with all my heart and soul and I am proud ot have been his wife and fellow solider in arms. stepped down and walked off the stage by her brother in law laying her head on his shoulder

A delegation dressed in black arrives from the Western part of Sussex. Covered in black Counciler Shawn_math, Wench, Gwendalyn and Thaddius all arrive. As they approach they all bow their heads.

We all remember when Ray was living in Arundel. How Gwen and Shawn convinced him to be a buyer for Sussex, how he quickly went thru grant after grant. How fun it was for him being a part of the county he lived in.

Shawn walked up in front of the crowd.

My friends and comrades. I remember the days when Ray first started here. He was so happy to work with the county and then even more happy to become a part of KoP. he longed to travel even tho I asked that he join in helping the county by joining the council. His heart was set on seeing England.

We sent many pigeons back and forth talking about his travels and then he was given an oppurtunity to settle in a new land. He had found love in his travels.

I felt liek a mentor to him even as he quickly rose the ranks. I was proud to have worked with him in so many capacities. While in Sussex he brought life into the town of Arundel and helped their people in ways they didn't even know. He did it with little fanfare.

As many people know Ray has done alot with out asking for the recogintion he probably deserved. May jah bless his soul and look after his family.

All four members from Lewes and Arundel walk up to the casket and lay a blanket bearing the Sussex Coat of Arms. They bow there heads then salute the casket.

2nd Lt. Magelet - Posted: Tue Feb 13, 2007 4:22 am

Magelet gave her sister a hug on her way up to speak.
"I first met General Raythouse when he became my sister's bodyguard, but I really got to know him as he began to court her, and they fell in love. From the first time I met him, I knew he was a good man. He was always kind and caring. He was fiercely protective of his lady, the love of his life, his beloved wife. He was excited about his children, and becomeing a father. Many nights in the tavern, he and Brianna would hold my daughter all night, and he loved playing with her, anticipating being able to play with his own children someday. He put his whole heart into the KoP, we were his family before he met Brianna, and the KoP has always been a part of his family.

To me, Raythouse was both a brother and a commander. He was always willing to help me with anything I needed, to give me advice, whether it was personal or in regards to the Knights of the Pheonix. He was a friend, and a leader, someone I shall miss very much.

I don't know why the Almighty chose to take to him. We can never know why. But I do know that General Raythouse, whereever he is, would be watching down on his brethren in arms, and his family if he can. We mourn him, but we must take peace in the knowledge that the Almighty has His reasons, and that whereever Raythouse is, he is living his reward for sharing so willingly of himself with those he loved."

Magelet wiped a tear from her eyes and went to sit down again.

Malachia had not been here in quite some time, and this was never how she envisioned her visit back. She nodded to those she knew, making her way directly to her aunt's side. Blinking to hold back the tears threatening to fall, she stepped back to Brianna's side, letting her know with her closeness that she was there. No matter what.

Palestine_Steel cannot believe what he has just heard, it is impossible, how could this be? Raythouse was like a brother to me, he has helped me through the age to be a great knight.

Palestine_Steel cannot think of words that would describe how sad he is at the moment.

All I can say is that you will be missed by the KOP
but also by your wife, your friends and I

As Kyley and Grip make their way to KoP headquarters, Kyley tries to deal with the pain of knowing all of her late night chats in the kitchen with Ray will never happen again. Leaning heavily on her husband's shoulder as they quietly take their seats, tears stream down her face. Glancing first at the baby lying quietly in her arms, then up at Grip, she tries to compose herself. Her desire to be strong for Brianna momentarily overcoming her grief, she wipes her tears. Looking tremulously at Grip, she is thankful to have him with her, knowing if she were to ever lose him, her life would not be worth living.

Grip - Posted: Tue Feb 13, 2007 4:45 am

His arm was around Kyley as Brianna spoke, he didn’t raise his eyes to look at the grieving woman though; her loss was too great for a sympathetic look to cover. He could hear the pride in her voice nevertheless, the pride of having known a great man, the pride of having been loved by that man, the pride of knowing that, if he’d had time, they would only have made more priceless memories…

His grip involuntarily tightened around his wife’s shoulder, almost selfishly glad he had her, Grip Mallett sat and listened to those who would share their memories of a friend who was torn from them far too early in his passionate life for the loss to be any less.

Beaker - Posted: Tue Feb 13, 2007 5:03 am

Beaker lifted Brianna’s head gently and went to the front to speak his piece.

“I knew Raythouse since we were children, we were like brothers. Each of us was alone without the other. Me an only child, he a child of the streets. We’d wrestle, he was younger but would nearly always win – I think it was his strength of will as much as his physical strength. Later we chased the local girls – I guess we both won then – and we’d raise all sorts of mischief together” Beaker laughs thinking back on the times. “No matter what happened, we were always there for each other. Ray was always true, always understanding, always loyal, and always taking responsibility. Despite his difficult young life he never complained or felt bitter.”

Beaker looked out at the crowd, impressed with the number of folks whose lives Ray had touched. “Ray asked me to join this noble organization, he was so proud of the KOP, of all of you, of all that you had accomplished, and all that he dreamed that you’d do in the future. I was not the warrior Ray was and when I left he was never angry or bitter towards me either. I loved him like a brother as I think he did me.”

“Later we found that we really were brothers, I’ll not go into the details, but let me say that I was ever more proud to know that I was blood with so noble a man as Raythouse.”

Beaker looks at his brother, his final rest, and then returns his now tear-filled eyes to the crowd “And then that’s it. Ray is no longer with us, but each of us carries a bit of him, his generosity, his infectious attitude, his unending defense of good over greed and malice, his spirit and love of life. Let us go forth and keep that part of Ray alive as we carry forth and continue our lives. Speak well of Raythouse; your leader, your friend, your brother and mine.”

Beaker steps down and returns to his seat, shaking, and hugs Brianna.

Groaning softly, one gaunt looking, haunted, and weary Deacon from Hereford, shivering and heaving his shoulders, approaches the chapel with a pained and haggard expression on his face. Tears cascade down his face.

Genuflecting at the threshold of the chapel, the Deacon crosses himself and silently prays before he painfully rises again, an audible groan again escaping his lips. Approaching that chapel's altar, he genuflects again in a motion that more closely resembles physical collapse as he faces it, a crest-fallen expression on his face as he crosses himself and silently prays again.

Rising to face the people assembled, his face glistening from perspiration and tears, the Deacon addresses them through tear matted eyes:

"My very dear friends, I regret that it is on but this most painful of days that I renew this acquaintance with most you. I knew the good General, Evesham's late Lord Mayor, my friends, through his darling wife whom I came to know campaigning by her side for public office. I came to know the Good General, our late Lord Mayor, by the clear pride the Lady Brianna Tudor has in him, the joy that illuminated her face, the smile in her eyes. I came to know, through the Lady Brianna Tudor, that your late General was and is an exceptional and extraordinary man of great heart, pure soul, and exceptional character.

"Think not our friend departed, although his voice is now harder for us to hear, for he that believeth in the Lord, though he were dead, yet shall live: and whosoever liveth and believeth shall never die. The Lord is our shepherd. We do not want; and the General by Jah's grace shall have life everlasting. I weep alongside all of you, my dear friends, but also sing - for your General now sees things of which we draped in flesh can only dream."

The Deacon, relieved that it is not he who has been tasked with officiating this service this day, so terribly shaken and barely capable of standing as he was today, slowly moved back into the crowd to kneel and pray.

Cpl Rohannon never had the honour to personally meet Brig Gen Raythouse, though knew of his greatness. Even more so, after hearing the words of the fellow KoP and friends and family speak, his respect for the man deepened.
His would be a memory to honour for eternity. He glanced at Lt Brianna, knowing her pain, no, not really, for she shared much more with her husband than he had with his late wife.
Watching the comraderie of KoP, the pulling together of everyone in mutual support, made Roh proud to be in the KoP, and he knew Lt Brianna would be alright in time.
Walking up to the casket, there was nothing he could say, except,
"Schlaf im himmlischen Frieden, Herr General."

Ash sat dutifully in her chair, remembering how much she hated attending funerals. She tried to keep her eyes averted from the casket, but as each soldier came forward to speak she listened and payed them the respect they were due.

She had not known General Raythouse, but she did know how great of an asset he had been to this brave order of knights.

When Brianna approached the casket to address the audience, Ash felt overcome. This woman, a new mother of three, had lost her husband, and all Ashriel could afford her was a remourseful thought? Sobbing silently, she pulled her legs up onto the chair and hugged her knees to her chest. It was the only form of comfort she could provide herself.

"Before leaving this place, we will say a last good-bye to our brother Raythouse
With honour and love, let us entrust him to Jah in the hope we shall join with him again in the presence of Jah. "

(A moment of silence)

"With all those which preceded us and which live already with the Lord,

The people respond, "Amen"

The bells tolls...

General Elson leads the honor guard into position around the coffin, each man in his proper place. He looks to the Minister, and Wanfeng nods,

"Company! Attention! Begin....March!"

They slowly and gracefully march from the chapel, a slow dignified march to the cemetery. Gen Elson looks ahead, he holds his head high and with pride. Sgt Maj Wanfeng marches beside him, a lone drummer sounding a slow beat.

They march out of the KOP headquarters and down the road leading to the compound, the sun shining brightly, the breeze warm and light. As they approach the final resting place of their brother in arms a bagpipe begins to play a mournful tune.

They march to the grave site and step to the sides of the grave, the honor guard laying the coffin on the supports laid out for it.

General Elson stands to the side, his eyes heavy with moisture and his heart as heavy. He waits for the final, dreaded command.

Quote :
John 11: 21 to 26 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
Prayer wrote:
Almighty and ever living Jah, Thou art our refuge and help in every generations, Thou art our hope for the years that lie ahead, our shelter in all the storms of life and our eternal home. We thank and praise Thee that through the redeeming work of Thy Son, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we may in this life abide in Thy love, and in the life to come we may share in the inheritance of the saints in light. Our brother Raythouse Flower MacBratney Tudor, according to Thy perfect will, has now been called to His heavenly home, and we here commit his body to the earth. Help us to know that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, that this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality. In this faith we do not fear the threatenings of death, for it is our Lord Himself Who by His resurrection has overcome the power of the grave.
We pray Thee strengthen our faith, to be steadfast, immovable in the truth, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labour is not vain in the Lord. We offer our prayer in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

The minister prayed after reading the two portions of scriptures.

After the prayer, General Elson and the Guard of Honour bow to pay their last respect.

The minister goes up to the casket, remove the KoP Flag, folded it and passed it to General Elson

[OOC: Now General Elson will present the flag to Lt Brianna /OOC]

Quote :
Gen Raythouse is a true soldier that I had met so fast. I still remember the time we 1st met in Arundel tavern. I recruit you to become KoP knight. At that time, he was still a new player. However, a serious and dedicated is how Army General Raythouse was while wearing his military uniform. He had helped me to drive the Knight of Phoenix to a further milestone. Without him, KoP cannot travel so fast and so effective.

But to his friends and family, he was known more for his smiling face and always having a good time. He was always an amazing friend. He would be there for them anytime they needed him. His kind and generous heart, Gen Raythouse will miss most by his family and all the knights in KoP.

After Gen Elson’s speech and salutations from the Honour Guards, the casket was carefully lowered into the ground. When the casket sits firmly at the bottom of the grave, the minister comes up to the grave.

“Today in the presence of family, friends and comrades, we shall send you to your final resting place in peace… my friend…” Wanfeng says facing the body of Gen Raythouse and holding his tears.

He turns to the peoples and continued, “Dear fellow noble knights, brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen,

Today we are gathered here to send off our brave, and dedicated leader General Raythouse as he returns to our Father.

He will definitely be missed by everyone here. He was sent by the Lord to lead fellow warriors in protection of our county and her peoples.

His duties are considered complete for the moment, though he has not been discharged from his service.

We will still have need of him, and we do hope that the Lord will return him to us; but this will not be the case…

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust.

Since Adam was formed from the dust of the ground through the breath of Life from Jah, when man goes to be with Jah, this body of ours has to be put to rest.

And in so doing, we commit this body of our beloved General Raythouse to Jah’s care."

"Amen. "

The minister then squats down and grasp a hand full of soil and throws it into the grave, on top of the casket . “Flowers are provided and you may collect them from the Guards of Honour as you come forward to pay your last respects.”

[OOC: Now is the time for everyone to say your last words to General Raythouse as you come forward to the grave to throw in a grasp of soil or a flower. /OOC]

*salute*

Many thoughts had coursed through his mind these past few days, all of them good, fond memories of the Man he admired above all others. He would carry this moment with him the rest of his life. A sadness, unlike any other he had felt in many, many years had befallen him and he knew that this sadness was shared by all.

Reaching down he picked up a hand full of dirt and tossed in onto the casket. He then crossed himself and said "FareWell My Friend".

He turned and handed a single red rose to Lady Bri, ... he being unable to speak, else he lose his composure. He nodded to Beaker, his old friend from their time in Arundel, ....then turned and walked slowly away.

I layed down some fresh flowers and stood there while the sun went down. I saluted his head tomb just before the sun went down and put it down once the sun was gone. I turned around and went away with a tear coming down my cheek.

Far away, close to the place which he called his home for so long, a cold, biting wind blows across an empty field. Unusually cold for the time of year, all is silent as though in wait for a coming event. The surrounding land is hushed. No sound can be heard.

Deep in the ground, something stirs. Something long gone now, something primeval, something determined.

The ground slowly begins to shake, a slow upheaval begins.

The time is quickly approaching. Nothing will slow or stop that which climbs from deep in the earth.

A hot muggy day with brilliant sunshine after a full night of rain, the humidity making it that much more uncomfortable, Major StarKey sat at his desk preparing orders, to be posted, requesting this months Stats from the Knights under his command. The opened windows seemed to help slightly, catching the breeze that blew down from the north.

A gust of wind blew hard through the window disrupting the papers on his desk, the quickness of the event taking him by surprise, but what perplexed him most was the sudden chill he felt, sending a shiver throughout his body. It was a coolness like that felt upon entering a long unopened door that leads to the lower level storage underground. As quickly as it happened, it ended with the repressive heat and the calmness of the afternoon returning.

An odd moment, one he soon forgot about, finishing up his paperwork, looking forward to a relaxed evening in his humble abode.

Good to see you my friend, look forward to your return, the place just hasn't been the same without you.

After hearing Gen Ray, Gen elson thought that he was still in dream.

He ran out from his room and start to look for him.

<occ> Welcome back. I really need you, mate. If you are on msn, drop me a line.

By the way, are you coming back to KOP? if yes, I will arrange to reinstate your position </occ>

<ooc>Aye, I am coming back. How could I stay away from this place?
Though in all honesty with my new job and Real Life obligations my time will be limited somewhat. Also, Raythouse is gone, at least in body. I have started a new character and am building him up. The fun part will be for my commrades to find me. I shall not hide, and the hints are there. You just have to look.

Awaiting you all, hope to see you soon.</ooc>

LOL, nope, and guessing doesn't help. You have to look deeper. The clues are right in front of all of you.

Very hard to find me. And from what I have seen there is no KOP in my town. Which is a bit of a disappointment to tell the truth. I think that a recruitment drive in _______________ is in order!!!

Plus with close observation and some detective skills I am sure someone will figure this out soon enough.

Warmest regards my friends. I am waiting to be found.

A new character, Raythouse is gone and can not be revived.

My new name is directly related to my old character.

That is all I will give you.

So much for an easy catch. Now I will be heading out of town. Maybe after next reset or the day after. I think I will head South for a couple of days, see what I can find.

Looking for all of you.

*Bows deeply* Many thanks my dear. I may take you up on that. But it would be a dead give away if they see me travelling with you now. For now, I have to travel with those who are not known here.

A shame really, I just saw a Private from here in a tavern, having a drink. Tsk tsk tsk.

It seems I just missed her, oh well, maybe next time.

Very nice try John, but you have to find me. I can not give anything away. Only two more resets and I am on the road folks. To where? Who knows, I will be travelling for a while until I am successfully identified.

To identify me you must be able to tell me why you think I am who I am. No guessing now guys. Like I said, the clues are right in front of you, you just have to see them.

I want to be found, but I will not make it easy for you. I will be here using Raythouse's name until such time as I have been found, then I will use the new name.

Good hunting guys, see you soon.

Wow, you had me thinking for a few days, but I found you! You leave very subtle clues, but i doubt it's going to be anytime soon that you will be found at this rate.

Just too bad dead people don't count as the KoP huh?

RP

The day dawns brightly as he awakes and looks out over his wheat field. A uncontrollable itch is gnawing at him and he knows that soon he will leave. luckily a friend has come and will walk the long road with him. Packing his meager belongings he walks out of his door, taking great care to lock it. One could never be to careful with the recent revolts that have taken place nearby. Heading out the door he puts the rising sun to his left and begins the walk to his destiny. He knows that soon he will see those he remembers from a long ago life.

Meeting his travel companion he greets her warmly, "Thank you for this favor. I feel safer on these dangerous roads with you by my side."

They walk for some time, enjoying the scenery and the fresh smell of fruit that fills the air.

"Soon, very soon." he whispers as the leagues pass beneath his feet.
